Sewing Studio

The sewing studio is coming together.  I have ordered most of the furniture from Ikea.  It’s due to arrive next week.  It’s hard to convey what it will look like in this atempt in Photoshop.  I hope it turns out well organized, bright, & cheery.

My sister in law bought me the wooden buttons from Pottery Barn for my birthday and HL found the out of stock wooden scissors on eBay but I do not have a photo of them for the collage.  I’m sure it will all come together.

Enjoy!

Splurges

I’ve been a bad girl (hiding head in shame).  With all the expenses on the house I have really cut back the spending unless it’s FOR the house.  However, I couldn’t resist the latest purchase.

It will be in the house.  Does that count?  This is my 3rd machine.  My collection is now complete.

Now if I only had the time to sew.  I will very soon!  We should be in the house within 3 weeks.  Our painters started this morning.  It is starting to look more and more like livable space.

Fast Update

This update is going to be short and sweet.  There is so much going on in our lives right now I honestly don’t know if I’m coming or going.

  • HL’s dad was hospitalized two weeks ago.  He is still in the acute care facility.  We do not know if he will ever be the same again.  He is fighting for his life and the freedom he had before entering the hospital.  We spend half of our time at the hospital and the other working on the house.
  • The second story of the farmhouse is moving forward.  Thank goodness for good contractors.
  • We are working on the tile as we can.  Makinlee’s bathroom is ready for grout.  Hopefully that will be done tomorrow.
  • My beautiful copper range hood is on it’s way!
  • Move in goal, May 2nd.

Master Bedroom

Master Bedroom

I have started ordering items for our master bedroom. The quilt from Garnet Hill is gorgeous in real life. The photos certainly do not do it justice. I am in love with the white leaf wall plates from Pottery Barn. They remind me of the many milk glass pieces that my grandmother had. I’m not sure if they will end up in our bedroom but that is my plan. I will use the neutral Alaskan Skies paint color for now and will more than likely change the color lately. At this point we just want to get IN the house. While I truly want to be IN the house I want it to feel like a home as soon as possible too. Who wants to sit back and look at empty walls? Now if I can just get HL to understand that philosophy!! Other than searching the internet for items for the home I am now traveling to our farmhouse every other day to check on the contractors. They finally showed up on Friday to start the loft where my sewing studio and Makinlee’s playroom will be. I’m also working with my sister in law on a secret that I hope to share in a few months. It involves sewing, patterns, & a new online business. Here is a sneak peak of the new store front.
Georganna & Co

I will leave you with that my friends.  Have a great week.

Laundry

Wouldn’t you be happy doing laundry in this room? This is my favorite room so far.

Have I mentioned that I love Pottery Barn? I am however going to add some homespun elements to our home with handmade quilts, embroidered pieces, & handmade curtains. I am working on a few VERY detailed pieces now which is why this blog is so neglected.
