Get Set…

Last Wednesday we had a Dr’s appointment. My blood pressure was high once again at 140/80. They started the Non Stress Test and Makinlee wasn’t moving much at all. Actually, she only moved twice within an hour. Her heart beat was around 135 and this is not normal for her it is usually in the 150’s. Due to my swelling and high blood pressure she is not having the heart accelerations that is normal. Basically she is in there resting because of stress. My Dr had decided to induce June 23rd at 6:00 am. Since my Pre-eclampsia is only mild it doesn’t constitute an emergency therefore we are having to wait until 39 weeks to induce. I’ve been monitoring my blood pressure and it hasn’t been high again but the fluid on my body is taking its toll. I believe we are all in agreement that it is time for her to come OUT! I’m very scared, nervous, and anxious about being induced because of the horror stories I have heard. I’m going to try and have a natural childbirth but I know now that may not happen. Pitocin usually brings on very hard and painful labors so I’m now rethinking the epidural however I will only request it as a last option. HL, my mom, and I have been very busy getting the house in order. I’ve had an induced nesting period and it’s driving everyone including myself batty! I’ve basically started my spring cleaning all over again.

Glucose Test Results & Nursery

I passed the 3 hour glucose test! HL and I have been working away in the nursery. We have completed the main nursery wall and it looks great. The colors are a little distorted in the pictures though. We hope to finish the walls completely tomorrow and move the furniture in. I also received all of the bedding and finishing touches yesterday. I’m going to go purchase the crib mattress Sunday and then I should be able to finish the crib bedding. I know I should wait but my Baby Shower is May 1st and I want everyone to be able to see the nursery finished. Although by the time Makinlee arrives the bedding will be dusty. I think this is what they call nesting.
