Last Wednesday we had a Dr’s appointment. My blood pressure was high once again at 140/80. They started the Non Stress Test and Makinlee wasn’t moving much at all. Actually, she only moved twice within an hour. Her heart beat was around 135 and this is not normal for her it is usually in the 150’s. Due to my swelling and high blood pressure she is not having the heart accelerations that is normal. Basically she is in there resting because of stress. My Dr had decided to induce June 23rd at 6:00 am. Since my Pre-eclampsia is only mild it doesn’t constitute an emergency therefore we are having to wait until 39 weeks to induce. I’ve been monitoring my blood pressure and it hasn’t been high again but the fluid on my body is taking its toll. I believe we are all in agreement that it is time for her to come OUT! I’m very scared, nervous, and anxious about being induced because of the horror stories I have heard. I’m going to try and have a natural childbirth but I know now that may not happen. Pitocin usually brings on very hard and painful labors so I’m now rethinking the epidural however I will only request it as a last option. HL, my mom, and I have been very busy getting the house in order. I’ve had an induced nesting period and it’s driving everyone including myself batty! I’ve basically started my spring cleaning all over again.
I passed the 3 hour glucose test! HL and I have been working away in the nursery. We have completed the main nursery wall and it looks great. The colors are a little distorted in the pictures though. We hope to finish the walls completely tomorrow and move the furniture in. I also received all of the bedding and finishing touches yesterday. I’m going to go purchase the crib mattress Sunday and then I should be able to finish the crib bedding. I know I should wait but my Baby Shower is May 1st and I want everyone to be able to see the nursery finished. Although by the time Makinlee arrives the bedding will be dusty. I think this is what they call nesting.

Happy Easter!I had a wonderful surprise for Easter yesterday. H.L. came home! He decided to surprise me and come home for the night and Easter Sunday. Unfortunately, he had to leave after lunch to go back to Houston, but he will be back for 14 days Tuesday night. It has been 3 years since we have been apart for this long. I think it has been hard on both of us, but it is something we will have to get use to again. Needless to say we had a wonderful Easter with our family. Makinlee wouldn’t move and kick for him though. I think he was disappointed. She goes through stages where she moves a lot and then will rest for a day. However, this afternoon she is her usual tumbling self. Saturday my mom and I went to Toys R Us and registered for my baby shower which will be held May 1st. I’m so excited about it. I cannot wait to see all of my friends and family. Not to mention all of the cute stuff they will bring with them. My mom, dad, and father-in-law decided to purchase the travel system stroller/car seat combo for us. Mom and I happened to go to JcPenny’s Saturday and they had the Eddie Bauer one on sale so she bought it! It’s very nice and I can’t wait to use it after Makinlee arrives. I know we will have great fun strolling the mall with daddy! I’m not sure daddy loves this idea as much as I.
At the moment I’m printing the shower invitations. I decided to do this myself to save the hostesses money and I love doing graphic art anyway. Most of the hostesses work and I’m not during the pregnancy so I thought it would be nice to take one thing off of their list. I believe when I’m finished with these I will go ahead and print the thank you cards. This will be one less thing to worry about. Ohhh, I’m getting so excited about Makinlee’s arrival!!

GIRL!Our little girl was a stinker today during the ultrasound. She did not like it at all. When we tried to get her to lay on her back she put her hands behind her head like NOPE NOT GONNA DO IT! I couldn’t help but laugh when HL told the tech that she was already acting like her mom. He was 100% correct of course. We are so excited! One good thing about having a girl is we already have a name picked out for her. She will be named Makinlee Georganna, after my maiden name, my grandmother’s name, and HL’s deceased mother. She will definitely know where she came from!
Now for the technical stuff… I am 17 weeks pregnant. She measured around 8 inches which is WAY ahead of schedule and her heart rate was 153. Everything looked great! Her spine was perfect and she had all of her little organs. We are so happy that she is so very healthy.

I had an ultra screen ultrasound appointment today. The full bladder thing was horrid. This ultrasound was to determine if the baby has any characteristics of Downs Syndrome. The ultrasound tech said that everything looked great. The baby was moving so much it took longer than normal to get the pictures she needed. I also had the finger prick blood work that will tell us if we are at high risk for downs or not. This test will determine if we choose to have the AFP or Triple Screen test. Of course I will not get the full results until January 5th when I have an appointment with my OBGYN. I am currently 12 weeks.

We went to see Dr again today. The bleeding is still there full steam ahead. They still cannot tell us what is wrong. Ultrasound showed baby to be growing perfectly. Measurements were 22mm and heart rate was 187 beats per minute. We also got a bit of a SHOCK! They saw ANOTHER heart beat. Baby #2 measured 10.4mm and heart rate was 162 bpm. They wouldn’t confirm twins because it was so much smaller but hopefully Tuesday of next week we will know for sure. We are a bit dazed and confused. Our Dr has a 4D ultrasound but has yet to use it. In my heart of hearts I think baby b will pass on to the heavens. She is just too small. Please keep us in your prayers.
