Over the last year I’ve become more and more interested in garden pollinators. With the installation of our new garden I made sure to include host plants for the native butterflies. So far we have had a huge population of Monarchs and Black Swallowtails.
Black Swallowtails caterpillars feast on: Dill, Bronze Fennel, Cilantro, Parsley, Rue, Celery, Queen Anne’s Lace & Parsnip.
Monarch caterpillars eat one thing, Milkweed (Asclepias). While there are several species of milkweed they are not picky. Tropical Milkweed grows best here in Houston.
