Up to a whole lot of nothing

Lately we’ve been chasing our tails here on the farm.  We had a string of bad luck with the goats which I may write about later.  I will say that we lost our most valuable, loving, & favorite Boer buck.  We both cried when we had to put him down.  The jury is still out on what actually happened to him.  On a more positive note we are rebuilding the chicken run, clean out the coop, & repainting the coop.  I’ve also built huge day lily beds around the entire thing.  If you are in the market for day lilies please check out Endless Mountain Day lilies because for a mail order company they send HUGE, healthy fans.  I planted mine about 3 days ago and they already have bud stalks. Amazing.  I will have photos of that project tomorrow because it is currently raining. Praise. The. Lord.

Monday was Makinlee’s birthday party and my first attempt at making a birthday cake.  I have to say it turned out well except for the funky colors that Makinlee asked for.

Precious Pony Cake

I made it using Wilton’s vintage Precious Pony cake pan.

Here are a few shots from the party.  We really had a blast.  There was the new trampoline, a big water slide, and several small pools for all the kids.  I feel bad because I don’t have any photos of the slide or pools but you didn’t go near with a camera for fear of getting soaked.
